Body-oriented trauma therapy

Using somatic approaches like Somatic Experiencing® and working directly with the cues and prompts of the nervous system, I support clients in releasing traumatic experiences held within the body. These traumas may stem from early developmental or trans-generational emotional patterns, recent incidents such as accidents, shock, or inescapable attack, or from chronic stress linked to cultural, religious, or systemic factors.

This work engages the felt-sense and interoception—helping clients tune into the subtle sensations and signals of their bodies to guide the healing process. By completing unresolved stress cycles, reactivating natural defense mechanisms, and promoting a return to homeostasis, we foster resilience and restore balance.

For many who have experienced post-traumatic stress, fully inhabiting the body can feel unfamiliar or even frightening. Together, we work toward embodying your experiences with safety and trust, allowing for reconnection and integration.

Clients may come feeling constantly “switched on,” struggling to access moments of restoration, or stuck in a state of “off,” finding it hard to summon motivation or follow through. Through somatic approaches, we gently reawaken the nervous system’s capacity for regulation, building a foundation for emotional balance, vitality, and presence.
